Halloween Feather Wreath

What You’ll Need:

2 Black Feather Boas

Round Wire Floral Form (I used a 16″)

Floral Wire

2 Boxes Large Orange Oranments (I used one box of shiny finish and one box matte)

1 Box Small Orange Ornaments (these usually come mixed finishes)

Orange glitter

Can of Spray Adhesive

1. First thing is to take some of the ornaments and spray them completely with spray adhesive (outside if you can, messy stuff).  Then use a spoon to sprinkle glitter over the ornaments, do this over a big piece of foil.  Put the ornaments on a piece of wax paper to dry.  After all the ornaments are covered, crimp the foil and pour the remaining glitter back in the bottle.

2. Attach the feather boa cord (not the feathers themselves) to the form using little piece of floral wire.  Clip off any excess wires.  Go around and around until it looks nice and full.

3. Use the same wire and attach the ornaments to the metal form.  Try to space them out pretty evenly so it looks nice and full.  This step is a real pain but it will all be worth it in the end.

4. Use a sturdy hook to attach the wreath to the door or you can use some wide orange ribbon to make an attractive bow and use that to hold the wreath.

5. Laugh every time you cough up little black feathers for the next few days.

Why can’t I just use hot glue?  Well, you can but I know how much my door opens and closes and I want something that’s going to hold.  Not to mention my door faces West and it gets REALLY hot during even snowy days and hot glue just melts and makes my wreaths fall apart.
