This is great for those chilly winter days when it's too cold to grill but a great steak and potato would just hit the spot!
  • 2-4 New York Strip Steaks (About 2 pounds for 4)
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • 3 tablespoons (packed) dark brown sugar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  1. Trim the excess fat off the steaks.
  2. Whisk the marinade ingredients in a bowl and pour into a ziploc bag or a flat bottomed pan, add the steaks and coat on both sides. Marinate overnight or at least 6-8 hours.
  3. Set the broil pan about 3-4 inches below the heat source and preheat (including pan).
  4. Using tongs, take the steaks out of the marinade, shake a bit to remove excess liquid and place the steaks on the broil pan, they should sizzle like a grill.
  5. Leave 5 minutes for medium rare or 7 minutes for medium well. Turn over and cook 5 minutes again or 7 minutes for medium well.
  6. Let the steaks rest on a plate for about 7-10 minutes covered with foil.
