I love sweet potatoes and so I'm always looking for a way to copy restaurant sweet potatoes. You know there ones where the skin is separated and you have a creamy but not mushy sweet potato inside. This recipe pretty much hit the nail on the head!
  • 2-4 sweet potatoes
  • butter
  • cinnamon
  • brown sugar
  • pinch of salt
  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F and set the rack to the bottom ⅓ of the oven.
  2. Place the sweet potatoes on a foil lined baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes.
  3. After 20 minutes, reduce heat to 350°F and bake for an additional 60 minutes.
  4. Let cool for about 10 minutes and serve!
For an extra special treat, once you slice the potato open, pour a little caramel sauce over it and top with marshmallows. Broil for about 2 minutes.

Hi Lydia! It’s really to taste but I usually put about 1 tablespoon butter, 1-2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/8 teaspoon salt.

This is the best method of baking sweet potatoes I have found…they came out perfect, so good! I didn’t use any of the ingredients, just the potato!

Will try this,as I love sweet potatoes.TY….Usually,I clean them and dry them with paper towels, prick them all over with a paring knife, them brush them all over with a thin coat of vegetable oil, place in my oval bake ware and cook at 350 for an hour, turning after 30 minutes….They come out crisp on the outside, all caramelizey, and soft on the inside with intense flavor….Open and add a little Maple Butter…Pretty Good eats.
